Today has been a much better day. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers!
My sixth and seventh graders are wonderful and I can already see how God is moving through them and it is only Tuesday. As I shared with them a little bit of my personal testimony and talked to them about my hopes and fears, their walls seemed to come down and they are beginning to trust and confide in me. During our small group devotion time I asked if any of the kids would like to close in prayer. No hands. Understanding completely of their fears and restraint from wanting to pray aloud amongst the group, I shared with them the same story that I shared with you all the other day. After I finished, I sat them in a circle and we held hands. I told them that I would start and end the prayer and if any of them would like to, they could pray one after another or simply pass by squeezing their neighbors hand. As I finished my opening prayer I momentarily sat quietly expecting to finish soon there after. But as I waited, I heard one small voice begin to pray, and then another, and then another, and so on and so on.
My heart was so happy and I could not have been more proud of those group of kids!
Each day of Holiday Club has a different dress up theme, somewhat like Spirit Week in High School. Tomorrow is Crazy Superhero Day and I'm dressing up as one of the Ninja Turtles (My recourses are limited).
I got the chance to come home for a little while after Holiday Club and before tonight's service. It was so nice to be able to relax for a little while, clean up my room and just get myself reorganized.
I am now getting ready to head back for another great night of worship.
xoxo
